Kris O’Neal received 2025 The Foundation for Evangelism Laity Award from the Missouri Conference of The United Methodist Church for his outstanding commitment to sharing the good news of Jesus Christ through authentic relationships and transformative ministry with youth.

“Kris has been instrumental in the growth and vitality of our Limitless youth program,” said Rev. Paul Klepees, senior pastor of Pleasant Grove UMC. “He leads with humility, compassion and joy. Through his willingness to invest in young people, walk with them through life’s challenges, and point them toward Christ, he has created an environment where students feel welcomed, loved and empowered.”

The Foundation for Evangelism Laity Awards recognize lay evangelists who live out their Christian faith in word, sign and deed. They are a way of focusing on the lay evangelism envisioned by founder and Methodist lay evangelist, Dr. Harry Denman. We’ve been inspired by the stories of recipients in the first year of this award (2025), and look forward to those we will meet in 2026!
