Christian Disciple-Making Happens in the Local Church

Inviting their community into relationship with Jesus, to grow in grace, and live out their faith

The Foundation for Evangelism recognizes that Christian disciple-making happens in the local church. With the Holy Spirit’s guidance, the local church invites members of their community to enter a life-transforming relationship with Jesus Christ, grow in grace, and live out their faith by loving and serving God and neighbor.

The Foundation for Evangelism provides both the training and grants to put that training into action through our Thriving Congregations Local Church Cohorts. Through teams of a pastor and lay leaders working together in small local churches, with 250 or fewer participants, participants are guided through the process of outlining a relevant evangelism experiment, leveraging the knowledge and skills acquired during the cohort training.

These cohorts are offered in the spring and fall each year. Check the Open Grant Cycles page or sign up for our Grants email list to find out when the next cycle opens.

The evangelism [cohort] helped our church embrace things they hadn’t considered: to respect [the women’s] ideas and views, merging those things and still growing through it.
