Excellence Recognition
Culture of the Call Church Award
The Culture of the Call Church Award, new in 2010, recognizes one local congregation of The United Methodist Church each year that has a history of helping young people age 35 or younger respond to God's call to full-time Christian service as a result of their being active in the life of that church. The Culture of the Call Church Award is the third award developed by The Foundation for Evangelism that recognizes excellence in evangelism. The purpose of the award is to recognize and highlight churches that are helping to raise up generations of leaders with a passion for evangelism.
Distinguished Evangelist of The United Methodist Church
Every year, The Foundation for Evangelism recognizes and honors a person who exhibits outstanding leadership in evangelism in The United Methodist Church. Nominees may be from the clergy or the laity. Previous recipients include Rudy and Juanita Rasmus, Adam Hamilton, Billie Fidlin, Kent Millard, Keith Tonkel, and Jorge Acevedo.
The Distinguished United Methodist Evangelist Award is another way in which The Foundation for Evangelism supports the development of leaders with a passion for evangelism who will have a multiplying impact on The United Methodist Church.
Harry Denman Evangelism Awards
Each annual conference is encouraged to honor one lay person and one clergy person per year with the Harry Denman Evangelism Award. Nominees for this prestigious award are persons who have been involved in personal witnessing, speaking, or inspiring others to be actively involved in helping persons experience God’s transforming love through Jesus Christ.
