Culture of the Call Church Award

Pastor Anthony Tang

Pastor Anthony Tang receives the 2012 Culture of the Call Church Award for University United Methodist Church in Las Vegas, NV.

The Lewis Center for Church Leadership has reported a startling trend among United Methodist ordained elders. In 1985, persons under the age of 35 made up 15% of the total number of active ordained elders. Just 20 years later, in 2005, that same group made up only 5% of active elders. The church has been working to turn this trend around, and in 2013 the number of ordained elders under 35 grew to make up 5.91% of active elders. There is more work to be done.

The Foundation for Evangelism believes the decision to enter full-time Christian service begins and is nurtured in the local church. Today, there are a number of congregations, large and small, who are empowering young people to answer God’s call on their lives. ┬áThe Culture of the Call Church Award, awarded annually by The Foundation for Evangelism, highlights these congregations. The award recognizes a church whose culture encourages the next generation of leaders with a passion for evangelism to enter full-time Christian service.

Help us to recognize the next Culture of the Call Church!
