The Foundation for Evangelism is an affiliate of the General Board of Discipleship of the United Methodist Church. It was founded in 1949, by the late Dr. Harry Denman, who served as the General Secretary of the Board of Evangelism of the Methodist Church.

The mission of The Foundation is to promote, encourage, and provide resources for responsible evangelism, enabling the United Methodist Church to bring persons into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and help them grow as His disciples.

Our focus is to provide support, primarily through funding, to organizations that develop leaders who will have a multiplying evangelistic impact on the United Methodist Church. 

The Foundation for Evangelism headquarters building is located in Lake Junaluska, NC. The Foundation is directed by a Board of Trustees who are lay persons from throughout the United States.
