2010 Refresh Campus Ministry Gathering

Posted 10-11-10 in FFE in the News

For over five years, The Foundation for Evangelism has sponsored the annual gathering of United Methodist Campus Ministers known as “Refresh.” The event, scheduled for December 14-16, has undergone some welcome changes including a new Campus Ministry Boot Camp. Led by Jim Griffith, founder of Griffith Coaching Network, this “basic training” event is specifically geared toward those wanting to take their ministry to the next level. The 48 hour workshop will have something for those new to campus ministry or veterans.

“The boot camp is designed to equip campus pastors with strategies and practices that will make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world at their schools,” said Creighton Alexander, 2010 Refresh Coordinator. The Campus Ministry Boot Camp will precede the Refresh Conference on December 12-14 so that participants can get the most out of the experience.

Leadership for the Refresh 2010 Conference includes nationally and internationally recognized leaders in worship, mission, and young adult ministry. Laura Story, author of the chart-topping song Indescribable will lead worship for the conference. Keynote speakers include:

  • Rev. Olu Brown of Impact Church in Atlanta
  • Alan Hirsch of Forge Mission Training Network
  • Rev. Adam Hamilton of United Methodist Church of the Resurrection
  • Pete Greig of the 24-7 Prayer movement and Campus America initiative.

Workshops will be led by nationally recognized leaders, some of which include:

  • Bridgette Young of General Board of Higher Education and Ministry
  • Sarah Wilke of Upper Room Ministries
  • Steve Sjogren, author and director of ServeCoach.com

Pre-Conference Seminars will also be offered prior to Refresh for those not attending the Boot Camp. Registration and more detailed information about the Refresh Campus Ministry Conference is available at CollegeUnion.org/refresh, and early pricing is available until October 31.
