LAKE JUNALUSKA, N.C. – Distinguished Evangelist of The United Methodist Church, Rev. Jorge Acevedo, will preach July 4, 10:45 a.m. at Stuart Auditorium for the Lake Junaluska Summer Worship Series. His sermon, “The Church America Needs,” will be one in a series of nine on the theme of “Lost in Wonder, Love and Praise.”
As pastor of one of the fastest growing United Methodist Churches in Southwest Florida, Rev Acevedo’s greatest delight is connecting people to Jesus and the Church. Grace Church, is a multi-site congregation in the Coral Gables area, and is recognized as having one of the largest and most effective recovery ministries in America.
In 2009, Rev. Acevedo was named the Distinguished Evangelist of The United Methodist Church by The Foundation for Evangelism. This award is presented each year to an individual whose personal ministry in evangelism has helped others to experience the transforming love of God through Jesus Christ and who reflects the quality and attractiveness of the Christian religion at its best.
The Foundation for Evangelism is sponsoring Acevedo’s presentation at Lake Junaluska and is pleased to join the Lake Junaluska Conference and Retreat Center in inviting the community to attend.
The Foundation for Evangelism is a non-profit organization located at Lake Junaluska, N.C., which provides grants to develop leaders with a passion for evangelism who will have a multiplying impact on The United Methodist Church.
