Building Relationships

The Blessing of Maggie Petreska

Into each of our lives come people who inspire and encourage us in our faith journey. Maggie Petreska is one of those people for each of us at The Foundation for Evangelism. In February, Maggie received the opportunity to serve The United Methodist Church in another capacity at Wesley Theological Seminary. Even in the sadness we feel at having her leave us, we are excited that she is once again following where God is leading her to serve.

A native of Macedonia, Maggie came to the United States to attend high school and High Point University. Her work with the Foundation began in 2004 when she joined the technology group. In 2007 after completing her MBA, she became the Director of Annual Fund and Communications.

Growing up in Macedonia in a home where her father was a United Methodist pastor, Maggie experienced the reality of being a faithful Christian in a non-Christian culture. Her life and the lives of her family were regularly impacted by their commitment to live a public Christian life. She now treasures the freedom to express her faith openly that many of us simply take for granted.

Maggie exemplifies the young United Methodist leader who shares the mission of The Foundation for Evangelism to “bring persons into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and help them grow as His disciples”. The staff of the Foundation truly is a family – a team with a shared focus and genuine concern and love for one another. To have one of our family leave us does bring great sadness, yet we rejoice in God’s wonderful blessing, both in having Maggie as part of our family and now in encouraging her to serve in another area.
